Megan Chia – Class of 2025
Megan Chia (24-E3), Taekwondo Captain and BCME student, embraced her EJ journey with energy and a fearless willingness to step outside her comfort zone. She thrived on balancing academics, CCA leadership, and overseas experiences, growing into a resilient and adaptable leader. Megan’s positivity, dedication, and infectious enthusiasm inspired those around her, while the friendships and mentorship she received became a cornerstone of her EJ experience.
“My two years in EJ have truly been some of the most enjoyable and memorable ones of my life. Entering through DSA-JC (Leadership), taking BCME, and serving as the captain of Taekwondo, I was given countless opportunities to grow - through leadership roles, overseas trips, internships, and new experiences that constantly pushed me out of my comfort zone. While there were definitely challenges, especially in balancing my academics with my commitments, every setback became part of the journey that shaped me into who I am today.
What made this experience so meaningful were the people around me. My friends were my strongest support system, always studying alongside me, encouraging me when I doubted myself, and reminding me that I was never alone. My teachers, too, played an equally important role. Their patience, constant guidance, and unwavering belief in me pushed me to keep going, even during the toughest moments. Their support made me want to do my best, not just for myself, but for them as well.
One of my most unforgettable memories was Orientation ’25, especially during the finale when we danced together as a batch to “Best Song Ever.” In that moment, surrounded by my peers, I felt an overwhelming sense of warmth, pride, and even a little sadness, knowing how fleeting these moments were. It also marked a significant milestone for me and my CCA as everything we had worked towards came together. Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful for all that EJ has given me — friendships, growth, and a deep sense of belonging that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
